created a card yeah

used a lexi image and its meant to be pink, the pink coat has come out slightly orange grrr,
background paper is a dovecraft pink christmas paper, the earmuffs and scarf were coloured in cool grey 2 promarkers then gone over with a clear glitter jelly roll pen as were the bags, the glitter stripes are dst and chunky glitter, mage then mounted onto a piece of pink handmade paper, greeting stamped on a piece of lilac scrap card and embossed in pink, not brilliantly cut i know i need new scissors i think. im somewhat glad to get away from the christmas theme. lol

this is going to be entered into lexies pink winter birthday.

first time with distress reinkers

i recently bought 5 bottles of tim holtz distress reinkers, after loads of video watching and joining the splitcoasters site i found a tutorial that appealed to me.
the base card was embossed using a papermania folder then coloured using shimmery eyeshadow, the tag was stamped directly on the dried inked photo paper then just mounted onto the base card, this will go into my first offs box hence it not being embellished.
i can only get better at using these inks from here on says i lol

my theme for a challenge

after winning  kims first christmas card challenge over on trimcraft i was to set the theme for the third challenge.
i decided on recycling and boy did i have fun with a very simple card but did it give me a headache. first i used stiff clear plastic sheet from some packaging luckily it was around a4 size and after cutting the edges off i got two sheets, used my now broken trimmer to cut out squares avoiding the scratched bits lol.
i then got one piece and embossed it with the craft too baubles folder, on the debossed side i originally coloured  the baubles using my promarkers but didnt like the effect so off it came with a bit of hot water and washing liquid,
a quick rummage and i found my glass paints, so after a few false starts i got going, after each bauble was painted before paint dried i sprinkled with glitter, i then painted surrounding area with pva glue and randomly scattered the mixed excess glitter all over.
although it still needs the sentiment and the ribbon on the edges  they are in larder underneath the mound of stash i have got.
but here is the almost finished card, oh it was also mounted onto card that i originally had a decoupage image on but found something had gone wrong so dismantled it,
i have got a few more squares of this plastick left so watch out for some more creations like this, as although its messy and time consuming its great fun. they can only get better lol, i did assemble this still slightly damp hence the in real life slight faults but hugely visible after being scanned lol

i won a challenge lol

over on trimcraft,
kim aka ditzy set her first challenge, project had to have a christmas tree on it,
well after not long purchasing the pepper and freinds christmas range the image stamped and coloured sat on my desk for best part of two weeks. i had made another card for this challenge and was going through my peel offs for that little extra bit when i found the sheet of stars. then out came the bug and here is the result, its still not fully sank in that i won it.
thank you kim for setting the challenge up, it has got me started on my christmas cards lol.
first the winning card image coloured with promarkers and a touch of green glitter added to tree not that you can see it lol, cut out using my mega nesties. adhered to textured red card a4 folded in half, stars randomly stuck on, once i get out my christmas text peel offs the greetin will be put on the left hand space.
second card made using the free embossing folder from craft mag, coloured using shimmer eye shadow and a light spray of hairspray to fix. paper was from a sample paper pack i bought from jasmines cards, so i dont know what pack it is from, again greeting will be added once i have got them from the christmas stash storage. can see i will be making more like this as they are super fast lol

emmas birthday card

emma is 14 today yikes, spent last night searching for decent jls and justin bieber images but nothing printed out well, remembered i had a pyrimid sheet sent to me some time ago, because of the lateness i guess i wasnt concentrating too well and not paying attention to what i was doing, now its up on screen i can see my faults. will i leave things to last minute again probably lol
lets see who can spot 1 big error i only noticed after seeing it on the pc.

latest card

yesterday collegue asked me how much i charge for my cards, usual reply £1 upwards. wants basic simple card for 1 year old today grrr do wish they gave more notice. mulling over what i could do and a rummage through my stash i found this diecut from a lovely e bay seller, it was a freebie , then the tag was coloured with eyeshadow and fixed with  cheap hair spray, as it was for a 1 year old  i decided not to add any other embellishments in case she was given them to play with lol.

alot of fun but hard work lol

over on trimcraft rozzy set us a challenge to make our own stamps.
this is what i came up with.
marrianne butterfly die cut out of foam, glued to thick card, dst taped to acrylic block, hey presto a new stamp, also after reading ikkis post about a different way of using a die think it was labels i tried with my mega nesties as i had too much card either side of the image, used the next size die up but placed with what was the top and bottom on the sides, i think it worked well,  but as this will go in my keeps box no one will see any faults lol, hence my not decorating with gems like i would if it was going to be given to someone.

latest cards

here are two of my latest cards.
i so love these images and just had to get them for my granddaughter who is three today
originally i was making a bookatrix got as far as the cutting out, stupidly i put them on the coffee table while i did the usual routine in a lets have a breather, loo and make a drink, hadnt long let the cats in for the night. on my return one of the cats was happily sat on the pages cleaning himself. all three pages had paw prints all over them and were unuseable. so one fancy card turned to two basic simple cards.
this one is coloured using promarkers, £1 shop glitter pens and some added gems

this one coloured with promarkers and shimmer paints with touches of glitter pen to the jewellary bits.
both the images are created by mo manning
lacie with ice cream and diva, both available to buy
they are great to work with

i do have two more projects to show that i created last week but untill i know they have been recieved i cant show them lol. you will just have to wait. i pray they were recieved as im actually very pleased with how one of the projects turned out

once i have checked out the pictures i took at ellies birthday party i will upload some, not including myself i hasten to add or i will scare you all away lol

recycling challenge

rozzy over on trimcraft set us a challenge to recycle three items to reuse. sadly i didnt get my three done but the ideas and tools are allready planned. i did however recycle a laundry tablet box, and what a chore this was, mainly because the paper was too thick, i knew i would need a stronger dst than my usual crafting one. on a visit to the pound shop i found wide carpet dst so luckily had it in my stash but noooo it refused to stay stuck down,  a thick layer of pva glue and being weighed down eventually did the trick. i did however learn that on my next box if i avoid papering the inside flaps it should work better.
my eldest emma has decided she now wants this box. this challenge i also made work for another challenge, a colour one, pink and brown, later on once i find my gems i want and that piece of ribbon that has vanished of my desk i can finish the box.
sooo we have gone from this
to this

dissappointed

i made these atcs for my ebay group, and to say im disappointed is putting it mildly, the theme was vintage, i bought the digi image and love the image, i coloured them with coffee for the aged effect, covered them in pva glue for the shine and to make stiffer, used hair grips cut down (hard work)  had to send them off as i ran out of time to make others, im embarrased to show these but maybe it will be a lesson to me not to try something new for a swap or challenge. because they are in their cello bags you cant see the  curl on the wings. wont be trying the vintage look again i dont think, especially with coffee, dont drink it and i cant stand the smell. did try with old teabags but got a lighter effect.

anyways, was asked to do a none religous christening card for a 3 year old girl.
after browsing galleries and request for help quickly as i found out i had less than 24 hours to create it. this is what i came up with, and i learnt a new idea to use ribbon on the nellies, thanks to a lovely trimmy members gallery where i saw the idea in the first place, (thanks jennie) i lurve the  effect, in fact a group im in has also liked the idea so much they are going to try it.

card made for freind

emma requested a card for a school freind. last minute as per usual. thinking oh i will do a basic simple one, she goes "oh shes into horses".    so between us we found an image we both liked, then i was left to it. First lot of images came out in black and white so not sure what im going to do with those, might make up and see if collegue at work is interested in them lol. Anyways did this simple layer and mat card using handmade paper for the base and the obligatry ribbon at the side, have to say the ribbon was tightened this morning once glue had dried as i had to use pritt stick because i couldnt find the dst. greeting added by emma this morning as well. Little minx told her freind i only helped a little.

had my girls in stitches

after a weekend of having ellie, who had us in stitches when she suddenly called hollie  stupid and emma an idiot i had to try to work out what noncker meant, dare i go there, told my son who reckoned it was not funny when she called him a noncker instead of the king, i had my girls in fits of laughter when i told them what they came out with, i will leave these two to your imaginations and see what you come up with,
hollie  if she repeated  slippers off
emma      fork and knife,
lets just say i had to make sure i rephrased those two before it got me into trouble.
anyway im now showing two cards i made for the animal chariety and ebay competition i take part in every month. theme was mothers day. I think i need to use bigger cards for these in future  found i couldnt find any bigger envelopes in my stash so had to use small and found i couldnt add the borders i wanted to add. not overly thrilled with these cards now i see them on the screen, but hey ho i know they wont win me the comp but im happy taking part and thats all that matters to me.

both are from the joanna sheen fashion boutique cdrom
there is a third card somewhere but i seem to have misplaced it after deciding it was ott and left no room for a greeting lol, once i find it i will post a pic as a lesson to myself

valentine cards

after taking a sample card into work using a digi stamped image from  the crafty pad, i got asked to make a number of valentine cards. all made similar to each other, the only difference was the backing papers those were all done in different colour schemes, this one im showing you was for our supervisor who didnt want flowery slushy or lovey sentiments, but then decided she wanted the heart brad added as i didnt add that  just in case.

this next one was a real headache and the end result not what i originally wanted to achieve, but recipient is pleased with it so thats all that matters
the frame is the off cut of the card above before it went through the cuttlebug lol, cant really say i know a man who would like to recieve this as a valentine card but i did as requested and wont find out untill our return to school after the holiday if he was pleased with it.

awww ellies snowmouse

my granddaughter who is 2 helped hugely to make this snowmouse, her first view of a proper snowfall, she absolutely loved it and didnt want to go in, oh and its called poy after some programme on cebeebies. she is still adding to it  while her brother is chucking snowballs at my window
