first time with distress reinkers

i recently bought 5 bottles of tim holtz distress reinkers, after loads of video watching and joining the splitcoasters site i found a tutorial that appealed to me.
the base card was embossed using a papermania folder then coloured using shimmery eyeshadow, the tag was stamped directly on the dried inked photo paper then just mounted onto the base card, this will go into my first offs box hence it not being embellished.
i can only get better at using these inks from here on says i lol

my theme for a challenge

after winning  kims first christmas card challenge over on trimcraft i was to set the theme for the third challenge.
i decided on recycling and boy did i have fun with a very simple card but did it give me a headache. first i used stiff clear plastic sheet from some packaging luckily it was around a4 size and after cutting the edges off i got two sheets, used my now broken trimmer to cut out squares avoiding the scratched bits lol.
i then got one piece and embossed it with the craft too baubles folder, on the debossed side i originally coloured  the baubles using my promarkers but didnt like the effect so off it came with a bit of hot water and washing liquid,
a quick rummage and i found my glass paints, so after a few false starts i got going, after each bauble was painted before paint dried i sprinkled with glitter, i then painted surrounding area with pva glue and randomly scattered the mixed excess glitter all over.
although it still needs the sentiment and the ribbon on the edges  they are in larder underneath the mound of stash i have got.
but here is the almost finished card, oh it was also mounted onto card that i originally had a decoupage image on but found something had gone wrong so dismantled it,
i have got a few more squares of this plastick left so watch out for some more creations like this, as although its messy and time consuming its great fun. they can only get better lol, i did assemble this still slightly damp hence the in real life slight faults but hugely visible after being scanned lol

i won a challenge lol

over on trimcraft,
kim aka ditzy set her first challenge, project had to have a christmas tree on it,
well after not long purchasing the pepper and freinds christmas range the image stamped and coloured sat on my desk for best part of two weeks. i had made another card for this challenge and was going through my peel offs for that little extra bit when i found the sheet of stars. then out came the bug and here is the result, its still not fully sank in that i won it.
thank you kim for setting the challenge up, it has got me started on my christmas cards lol.
first the winning card image coloured with promarkers and a touch of green glitter added to tree not that you can see it lol, cut out using my mega nesties. adhered to textured red card a4 folded in half, stars randomly stuck on, once i get out my christmas text peel offs the greetin will be put on the left hand space.
second card made using the free embossing folder from craft mag, coloured using shimmer eye shadow and a light spray of hairspray to fix. paper was from a sample paper pack i bought from jasmines cards, so i dont know what pack it is from, again greeting will be added once i have got them from the christmas stash storage. can see i will be making more like this as they are super fast lol

latest card

yesterday collegue asked me how much i charge for my cards, usual reply £1 upwards. wants basic simple card for 1 year old today grrr do wish they gave more notice. mulling over what i could do and a rummage through my stash i found this diecut from a lovely e bay seller, it was a freebie , then the tag was coloured with eyeshadow and fixed with  cheap hair spray, as it was for a 1 year old  i decided not to add any other embellishments in case she was given them to play with lol.
